$5000 SIGN ON BONUS!!

External candidates are eligible for a one-time signing bonus of $5,000. The bonus will be paid out as a $1500 gross pay adjustment in the first pay check; the second installment of $1500 will be paid upon completion of six (6) months of employment; the third installment of $2,000 will be paid after one (1) year of employment of satisfactory service in Facilities Management. Amounts reflect gross pay, prior to applicable tax withholdings and deductions required by law.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The HVAC & Controls Technician is a crucial contributor to the success of all mechanical and DDC systems throughout the UVM Medical Center. Responsible for the oversight of day-to-day maintenance and repairs, the incumbent will guide and assist a team of technical personnel working on air handling units (AHU's), variable air volume (VAV) systems, and heating/cooling distribution schemes, including hydronic and refrigeration systems.

Utilizing an extensive background in HVAC, the HVAC & Controls Technician will also assist with the following; chiller plant sequencing, controls programming & troubleshooting, commissioning, small project management, and other functions as assigned. Additionally, it is the duty of this position to identify points of failure and inefficiency throughout the campus, and to submit comprehensive reports/proposals detailing solutions to the Supervisor of Plant Engineering.

The ideal candidate will continue to improve upon their own knowledge base, contribute to the knowledge base of their peers, and promote a safe working environment while delivering a superior customer service experience.

EDUCATION:

Associate's degree in applied sciences or formal technical training in excess of 4 years.Must possess a valid Vermont driver's license and safe driving record

EXPERIENCE:

Five years of HVAC mechanical systems and controls installation and trouble shooting.
