Our Birthing Center is a warm & friendly atmosphere that consists of seven labor and delivery suites, four observation rooms and two operating rooms. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team that offers 24 hour anesthesia coverage and support for both medicated and unmedicated births. As an academic medical center, we accept high risk transfers from a 150 mile radius in our excellent Level III NICU.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Nurse Manager facilitates the realization of the organization's mission, strategic plan, and values at the point of care. Plans for, leads, coordinates and facilitates the provision of quality care and service for a defined population of patients and facilitates the procurement of appropriate supplies/equipment and provides for adequate numbers and mix of staff to deliver nursing care. The Nurse Manager demonstrates excellence in problem solving, leadership, communication, fiscal responsibility and teamwork. The Nurse Manager provides leadership, consultation and collaboration in a dynamic, multidisciplinary teaching environment. She/He collaborates with administrators and other members of the health care team to design, evaluate and improve patient care systems and processes.

EDUCATION:

Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the State of Vermont required. Bachelors in Nursing Required. Master's Degree preferred, preferably in nursing management or a related health field.

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of three (3) years nursing experience. Healthcare leadership experience.
