We are seeking a per diem Scheduling Specialist III to join our Radiology team. Would you like to make a difference with helping our patients as they work through the logistics of scheduling a plethora of appointments that may be a part of their care within the Radiology units at UVMMC? JOB DESCRIPTION:

Our Scheduling Specialist III will:

  • Perform scheduling and coordinate simple and complex patient appointments for respective clinics using an automated patient scheduling system

  • Triage patient problems related to appointments and scheduling

  • Schedule any related tests and procedures and provides appropriate patient instructions

  • Possess the ability to communicate in an effective and competent manner to ensure a positive outcome for our patients

  • Develop collaborative relationships with peers, patients, providers and visitors

  • Train new staff and is an advanced scheduling resource for providers and mentor to staff

WORK LOCATION:

This position will typically work on-site at the UVM Medical Center Main Campus most of the time, floating to the satellite campuses as needed.

  • When working at the Main Campus parking may not be available - so candidates must be open to taking the shuttle or public transportation.

SCHEDULING INFO:

This department has shifts which begin as early as 6:00 a.m., and the latest shift ends at 10:00 p.m. We are seeking candidates who are able to provide coverage for multiple shifts within these hours.

  • Training can be full time for a period of 2-3 weeks, or part time for a period of 4-5 weeks.

  • After training period is complete, then hours would be per diem (as needed to provide coverage for the team).

EDUCATION:

Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 3 - 5 years of experience as a Scheduling Specialist.

  • Previous scheduling experience and medical terminology preferred.
