JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Radiology Specialty Technologist (Rad Tech):
Has a high level of commitment, advanced skills, and acceptance of responsibility has been developed in performance of dual energy x-ray absorptiometry (DXA) and quantitative ultrasonography.
Functions at an advanced level within the Osteoporosis Center performing a wide variety of bone density procedures.
Demonstrates progressive knowledge and sense of responsibility in the daily operations of the Osteoporosis Center.
A thorough knowledge of radiation procedures and safety is required.
Has a minimum of 4 years experience as a Diagnostic Technologist.
Has committed hours.

Our Rad Tech assists in the clinical instruction of personnel as needed and participates in research protocols in collaboration with the principal investigator of the Osteoporosis Center and research coordinators.
EDUCATION:
Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology approved by CAHEA/JRCERT. ARRT certified and is licensed with the State of Vermont and eligible to become certified and maintain certification by the ISCD
EXPERIENCE:
4 years experience as a Radiology Technologist is preferred. Successfully complete all Radiology competencies using physics of radiation as a background.
