External candidates are eligible for a one-time signing bonus of $30,000. The bonus will be paid out as a $10,000 gross pay adjustment in the first paycheck following the completion of a successful 90-day orientation; the second installment of $10,000 will be paid upon completion of one year of service; the third installment of $10,000 will be paid upon completion of two years of service in the department hired into. Amounts reflect gross pay, prior to applicable tax withholdings and deductions required by law.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Nurse Manager facilitates the realization of the organization's mission, strategic plan, and values at the point of care. Plans for, leads, coordinates and facilitates the provision of quality care and service for a defined population of patients and facilitates the procurement of appropriate supplies/equipment and provides for adequate numbers and mix of staff to deliver nursing care. The Nurse Manager demonstrates excellence in problem solving, leadership, communication, fiscal responsibility and teamwork. The Nurse Manager provides leadership, consultation and collaboration in a dynamic, multidisciplinary teaching environment. They collaborate with administrators and other members of the health care team to design, evaluate and improve patient care systems and processes.
EDUCATION:
Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the State of Vermont is required. The University of Vermont Medical Center is moving toward an all Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) workforce. All external candidates hired into, or current employees promoted to, a RN position will be required to obtain their BSN as outlined in the terms of their offer letter. Current internal RNs are strongly encouraged to pursue a BSN to support this initiative. Master's Degree preferred, preferably in nursing management or a related health field.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of three (3) years nursing experience. Healthcare leadership experience and at least one (1) year of dialysis nursing experience.
