Buildings & General Service (BGS) at the State of Vermont has an exciting and unique opportunity with room for growth as a BGS Lab HVAC specialist within the Operations & Maintenance Division.
This position will be responsible for the HVAC and facility maintenance duties at the Vermont State Health Lab in Colchester Vermont. The position will also work as part of a larger team that performs these duties at other state facilities within the greater Burlington area. Travel between these facilities may be required and will utilize a state owned and/or a privately owned vehicle. A valid driver's license and background check are required. The hours are Monday through Friday, 7am to 3:30pm.
The salary may be negotiable based on experience with an hourly starting rate of $25.43 to $31.43.

Duties are performed at state laboratories. Laboratories are often researching and/or processing materials and substances that require additional levels of safety and security, which the incumbent will play a role in ensuring these additional levels are met. Must be able to climb ladders, lift weights up to 75 pounds; and work in cramped, wet, or poorly ventilated areas. Climbing, crawling, reaching and standing, for extended periods of time are often required. This position requires emergency response to calls outside of regular work hours. Some potential for physical injury may be present.
Must possess a current Universal Refrigerant Recovery Certificate.
Possession of an R-410 Safety Certificate.
