GENERAL SUMMARY: The Advanced Practice Provider works under the general supervision of the Practice Supervisor and the medical supervision of the physician(s) to provide excellent medical care completing the duties and responsibilities of the position while complying with HIPAA and CVPH confidentiality and other organizational regulatory programs and policies. They are responsible to provide health care services as licensed professionals working within their defined scope of practice. This position requires regular use of independent judgment.QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Skills Required:1.Current license as a Registered Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in New York State.2.Previous Cardiology experience required.3.Current or eligible for NYS DEA license.4.Understanding and commitment to CVPH core values of teamwork, confidentiality and quality care.5.Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.6.Expertise in clearly communicating medical information to professional practitioners and general public.7.Knowledge of OSHA standards/regulations.8.Ability to react calmly and effectively at all times including emergency situations.9.Legible handwriting.10.Above average spelling and memory skills.11.Develop and maintain effective relationships with staff, patients and external customers.12.Maintain confidentiality and support the goals and objectives of CVPH.13.Utilize available business technology to perform assigned duties.14.Ability to make appropriate decisions with a minimum amount of supervisory direction.15.Desire to remain current on emerging trends in technologies, techniques, issues and approaches as they relate to cardiology and cardiac care.16.Ability to obtain appropriate privileges at CVPH.17.Ability to obtain credentialing by third party payers to enable third party billing.18.Current CPR certification and/or competency required.19.Must have ability to work in team environment.20.Medical office experience preferred.21.Experience in use of personal computers required; proficient in use of Word.22.Knowledge of medical practice management and/or electronic medical records software a plus.As applicable, the individual has training/competency in attending to the special needs and/or behaviors appropriate to the age of patients for which care is being provided.
