Position Summary

As a Program Manager, you will be part of a fast-paced Infection Prevention Technologies R&D team located in the greater Cleveland area. This role is responsible for leading all aspects of program management for STERIS' sterility assurance capital products, ensuring the right features are developed and delivered on time to meet customers' and business needs. A successful candidate will own the project from initial concept through production by leading a cross-functional team following design controls, new product development, and engineering change procedures according to STERIS quality system.

Duties
  • * Leads research, development, and integration programs by collaborating with technical subject matter experts in the development of software-controlled electro-optical capital equipment.
    * Promotes collaboration across R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Marketing, and Operation teams to effectively coordinate project activities and deliverables.
    * Develops, maintains, and executes project plans in accordance with STERIS procedures and standards, ensuring adherence throughout the project lifecycle.
    * Handles multiple projects simultaneously with competing priorities and deadlines.
    * Identify and mitigate risks associated with medical device development, regulatory compliance, and market adoption.
    * Monitors project progress, identifies potential risks and develops mitigation strategies to keep projects on track.
    * Coordinates technical discussions and reviews to expedite solutions and implementation.
    * Coordinates and allocates resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials.
    * Conducts regular status meetings, communicating program strategy, status, risks, next steps and more to program stakeholders and senior leadership.
    * Identifies and tracks key performance indicators for reporting and data-driven decision-making.
    * Oversees creation of design history file and device master record, facilitating their transfer to production.
    * Promotes a culture of continuous improvement by evaluating project outcomes, identifying areas for optimization and implementing lessons learned in future projects.
    * Travels up to 10% including internationally.

Education Degree
    Required Experience

    * Bachelor's degree in engineering, Physics, or other science. Advanced degree in related field is preferred.
    * Requires 12+ years of progressive experience in working on and then leading engineering projects.
    * Five or more years of engineering project or program management.
    * Five or more years of experience working in the medical device industry or other regulated industry which require formalized development processes strongly desired.
    * PMP Certification or training in project management is desirable.
    * Strong influence skills with the ability to build strong, collaborative relationships and complete tasks without direct accountability.
    * Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required to effectively manage cross functional teams.
    * Strategic thinker with the ability to anticipate and address challenges proactively.
    * Exceptional team player and adept with conflict management.
    * Excellent formal presentation skills before small and large groups
