POSITION SUMMARY

This full-time year-round role is responsible for the daily operations of Benedict's, a full-service restaurant and bar in Stratton Mountain Resort's village. The Restaurant Manager consistently leads by example and is frequently immersed in operations to best support the team. This position works closely with the Culinary lead to ensure an efficient food service operation and the highest quality dining experience. The Benedict's manager displays sound decision making, exceptional communication skills, consistently takes initiative and follow through, while actively contributing to and fostering a positive work environment. The pay range for this position is $59,000 - $62,000 annually, based upon experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Oversees all daily operations to consistently ensure optimal guest & employee satisfaction.
  • Proficient in all operational roles and supports direct reports by actively covering shifts.
  • Effectively uses available resources as needed to provide departmental leadership in all areas.
  • Independently seeks solutions and positively collaborates with Restaurant Managers to constantly improve operations, while consistently maintaining optimal communication with Senior F&B Manager.
  • Takes initiative to actively manage Benedict's revenue, labor and COGS consistently and frequently. Takes action and makes necessary adjustments as needed to stay within budgetary guidelines.
  • Works closely with Culinary lead to perform regular quality checks and execute menu changes while adhering to review and approval processes.
  • Works closely with Senior F&B Manager to create and implement beverage menus while adhering to review and approval processes.
  • Edits, approves and manages time cards daily, while adhering to payroll guidelines and applicable deadlines.
  • Performs a monthly audit on Department of Liquor Control certifications to ensure compliance for applicable team members.
  • Responsible for implementation and training of the Guest Experience Systems (GES) under guidance and direction from Senior F&B Manager.
  • Creates weekly schedules in line with business levels and budgets, ensuring they are published and communicated to the team consistently and timely.
  • Responsible for overall maintenance of equipment, furniture, appliances, etc. indoors and outdoors for the designated restaurant; submits work orders as needed. Communicates issues promptly to Senior F&B Manager and effectively communicates progress updates.
  • Works with Senior F&B Manager to create promotions and activations for the calendar year to enhance revenue opportunities and guest experience, whilst maintaining the integrity of an established brand.
  • Leads training and continued development of all front of house team members to ensure consistency in areas including but not limited to thorough onboarding and resort introduction, quality control, care for restaurant smallwares, equipment, etc.
  • Ensures inventory counts are executed, reviewed for accuracy, and submitted into Inventory Management System monthly and meeting applicable deadlines. Work with Commissary Supervisor to ensure cost center transfers are tracked and completed with accuracy.
  • Actively recruits, coaches and supports all team members to ensure optimal employee experience and guest service.
  • Actively participates in required online and in-person trainings and meetings, while adhering to applicable deadlines.
  • Supports the Food and Beverage department as requested or needed in all areas, which may be in addition to primary responsibilities.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required

Experience:
  • 1+ years leadership experience managing F&B operations
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated, resourceful, organized, detail oriented, enthusiastic, outgoing and reliable
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Creative problem-solving skills
  • Proven track record in creating and maintaining a courteous, friendly, professional team environment
  • Forward thinking with a willingness to adapt, learn and take on new responsibilities


QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Food Allergen Safety Certification
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Successful completion of Kronos/UKG training to independently edit, manage and approve employee timecards.
  • Successful completion of Manager Essentials training.
  • Successful completion of Microsoft 101.


TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
  • Occasional travel for recruiting events or vendor meetings may be required.
  • This position may require the ability to work in various locations on resort.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
  • This position will be required to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to lift and carry at least 50 pounds on a regular and continuing basis.
  • Ability to stand on feet for shifts of 8 hours or longer
  • Ability to work in both hot and freezing temperatures throughout one shift


Food Service Environment:
  • Most work tasks are performed indoors. Temperature is moderate and controlled and the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours in length at a time over an average shift of 8 hours.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to climb or balance and taste or smell.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds on a regular and continuing basis.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other employees.
  • Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment including but not limited to: non slip footwear and gloves.
