• Controller Refurbishment Technician

  Day Shift: Monday to Friday, 9AM to 5PM

  This position entails assembly, evaluation and assessment of controllers sent in by current customers for refurbishment. You will then troubleshoot root cause of malfunction and recommend solutions. You will also maintain workflow in the Controller Refurb area in accordance with scheduling priorities and support sales orders as needed.

  Key Responsibilities:

• Disassemble a Controller while assessing its condition as it pertains to customer's field issues.

• Troubleshoot customer's controllers in an effort to determine root cause(s) of system malfunction and recommend solutions.
• Specify replacement parts required, coordinate with internal suppliers, Purchasing, and Logistics to complete shortages
• Also may include working with vendors to qualify new or replacement parts.
• Complete production orders in Baan and maintain required paperwork for refurb work.
• Provide input for improving operations, product flow and quality.
• Use test equipment to conduct final tests of Altanium Controllers.
• Troubleshoot and repair component failures as necessary.
• Clearly communicate test failure modes to Supplier Quality Engineer to facilitate corrective action.
• Process sales orders and production order calls in Baan.

Qualifications

• Experience in an electro-mechanical assembly environment with diagnostics and troubleshooting preferred

• Proven ability to identify and assess problem situations, develop & act on alternative solutions

• Solid understanding of the basic principles of electricity, must be comfortable powering up and testing controllers for diagnostics & post repair
• Working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems required (preferably Baan)
• Excellent understanding of blueprint symbols and all drawings of complex parts, including electrical schematics and assembly drawings
• Operate overhead crane, forklift truck, and other lifting devices
• Ability to lift at least 35 pounds
